Impact Independent Winter Guard was formed in the summer of 2007 in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Impact's goal is to provide the highest caliber training in equipment and movement, while giving members life changing experiences through performance in pageantry.
The 2008 cast of Impact was comprised of 8 ladies and 3 gentlemen. Performing their production "Romeo and Juliet" with music by the Indigo Girls, Impact amazed audiences throughout Virginia, and the East Coast. Impact made appearances at three WGI regionals, and was the 2008 Bronze Medalist at the WGI Richmond Regional. Impact was also awarded the Bronze Medal in the Independent A Class of the Atlantic Indoor Association Championships. Impact concluded its inaugural season as a WGI Semi-Finalist in Dayton, Ohio.
In 2009 Impact was comprised of 6 Ladies and 6 Gentlemen. Performing their production "Circuitry in Motion" with music by the artist BT, Impact brought an integrated circuit to life on the stage. Impact appeared and placed as finalists at three WGI regionals, and was the 2009 Silver medalist at the WGI Raleigh Regional. Impact was awarded the Silver medal in the Independent A class of AIA. Impact was honored to be the only Independent A color guard representing AIA to advance to WGI Semi-finals in 2009.
Impact Independent uses the 39" Elite 4 Rifle, and 39" KS2-39 King Sabres.
For the Rifles, we use a black thin leather strap, and a black bolt. Ask for the lightest weight available.
Note: all members of the 2010 cast of Impact Independent will be asked to spin rifle!
